I was informed that today at 8pm there will be a very important meeting at the Hotel Hacienda De Melaque to discuss the murder of Robin Wood. The idea is to have as many Americans and Canadians attend so they can voice there opinion about the lack of security in the town and surrounding area. The meeting will talk about what possible options there are to boost security and what measures need to be taken in order to accomplish this task. The community of Melaque is outraged by this tragedy and is fed up by the lack of protection for themselves and their foreign friends. If we all come together and let our voice be heard that this will not be tolerated, something will have to change. Please do not be apprehensive about going. This is important for all who love Melaque.
I have always thought that the army, whose base is adjacent, could be helpful by cooperating with the ever-shrinking police force and doing patrols after dark. But such decisions need political involvement. I was walking with three other people not-very-late when I was assaulted by a punk who immediately bicycled off with another guy. It was very fast but they had to be following us for awhile. I do hope Ricardo and possibly the municipal president will be at the meeting.
ReplyDeletei dont think it's good idea to have any political figures at the meeting. rightnow its better to have everyone group together with no political agenda. Then after everything is said and done. then go to our representatives. right now the meeting is to just organize our thoughts and opinions.
